Everything you need not to feel a thing

During and after

Fear of the dentist?

At Dental Clinic Crooke Marbella we have all types of sedation. We treat each case individually and after an integral health study, together with our medical aesthetist, we will determine the best course of pain management for you.

Conscious sedation inhalation with nitrous oxide (Ansiolisis)

Nitrous oxide is a safe and effective sedative agent that combines with oxygen; Is inhaled using a small mask that fits over your nose to help you relax. Nitrous oxide, sometimes called “the gas of laughter”, is an option that the dentist can offer you in order to make you feel comfortable during certain procedures.

You will be able to hear and respond to the specialist’s questions or instructions.

The dentist will ask you to breathe normally through your nose and, within a few minutes, you will begin to feel the effects of nitrous oxide, which are tranquility, relaxation and well-being.

The effects of nitrous oxide disappear shortly after treatment has come to an end.

Conscious intravenous sedation

Conscious intravenous sedation uses sedative drugs intravenously to control anxiety. It is used mostly in long and complex treatments such as surgeries.

These sedatives can induce conscious sedation, in which the patient will be conscious and able to respond to orders, but will be in a state of extreme relaxation.

The patient has no pain and retains the ability to respond to physical stimuli and also while he is under the effects of sedation he will breathe autonomously.

This technique is very safe but must always be administered and monitored by an anesthetist.

This type of sedation is especially indicated for patients who are afraid or anxious about surgical procedures, patients who will undergo long interventions such as implants that require a long time in an uncomfortable situation. Also if the patient is going to receive several treatments on the same day by one or more specialists.

Patients with psychic disabilities who are not able to relax for the dentist to work, for example Down Syndrome, Parkinson’s, Alzehimer.

General anesthesia

General anesthesia is defined as a reversible state of unconsciousness produced by anesthetic agents, with the loss of sensation of pain throughout the body. These anesthetic agents possess a fundamental characteristic and it is their reversibility, that is to say, once these molecules leave the cell, it returns to its initial condition or normal state. General anesthesia is accompanied by loss of protective airway reflexes, may also be accompanied by loss of ability to breathe spontaneously, this will depend on the level of depth of anesthesia.

This type of sedation needs to be pre-anesthetized.

The pre-anesthetic evaluation is an overall assessment of the patient, performed by the anesthesiologist, in order to ensure that the pre-operative course is the best possible. It should include the history, the physical examination and the complementary examinations.

This type of anesthesia is especially indicated for treatments that involve a great complexity or duration, as can be the surgery of Zygomatic Implants.

It can be done with hospital admission or outpatient. It will be the dentists along with the anesthetist who make the decision to do it one way or another.

We have agreements with the best hospitals in the province of Malaga to be able to carry out this type of interventions in case of having to make a hospital admission.

And after?

We are train in the latest techniques of digital dentistry specifically those that are minimally invasive to the body. Our surgery is like keyhole surgery which has faster rate of recovery. Most of our patients does not experience pain afterwards and are back to work the following day.
